This online course is designed for students seeking a career as a patient access specialist.
Patient access services in a hospital setting encompass many different roles and responsibilities. It is one of the most important and concentrated areas in health care. Patient access specialists are responsible for the delivery of the critical components of the revenue cycle, as well as keeping the hospital compliant with the many regulatory agencies, maintaining patient safety through correct patient identification practices, and providing extraordinary customer service skills in difficult situations.
Students may also select this course and other patient access classes to prepare for the Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification exam.

The Certified Healthcare Access Associate certification examination is not offered by the Denver Learning Institute, and there is no guarantee of passage of the examination. Students will need to separately register for the examination and pay the related examination fees, which are not included in the prices listed herein.
